PESHAWAR: A lashkar commander from Mohmand Agency was gunned down along with two guards in Peshawar on Saturday.

According to police officials, the lashkar commander, Haji Lal Badshah was on his way to his residence in Peshawar when unidentified gunmen riding on a motorcycle opened fire at him at new Garhi Bukhshu Pul Area.

The Mohmand Lashkar commander was promptly rushed to a nearby hospital but did not survive. Police claimed that he was killed on the spot.

Haji Lal Badshah was the commander of a local lashkar of the Mohmand Agency, which was active against militants.

PESHAWAR: Residents recovered the bullet-riddled bodies of six militants in a tribal area of northwest Pakistan, an official said on Saturday.

The bodies were recovered in the Kurram tribal region near the Afghan border.

“There was infighting among two militants groups. One group killed six of the rival group and fled…. Residents discovered these corpses today,” Mumtaz Khan, a local administrative official in the area, told AFP.

SWAT: At least ten people were killed and twelve others injured in a suicide blast at a check post in Mingora on Saturday, officials said.

The targeted check post is located near the Circuit house in Mingora, reports DawnNews.

LAHORE: Panic and fear gripped Lahore on Friday after it was rocked by a twin-suicide attack that killed at least 50 people, followed by a series of low-intensity explosions that made a mockery of the security apparatus.

Two suicide bombers struck in R.A. Bazaar area of the cantonment in the afternoon, killing 50 people, including eight soldiers, and injuring around 120 others. Then in the evening, six blasts shook Allama Iqbal Town and Samanabad.

According to police, the explosions were intended to terrorise an already rattled populace. A seventh blast reported from the same area was caused, according to police, by an electricity transformer which blew up because of some technical fault.

LAHORE: After the deadly twin suicide attacks in Lahore Cantonment that killed 39 and injured about a 100. Lahore’s Moon Market has witnessed five low intensity blasts within an hour of each other. One person has also been taken into custody from the area.

No casulaties have been reported in the explosions, only minor injuries that needed first aid treatment.

The sound of the explosions were heard in a two kilometer radius, the low intensity blasts created panic but not much harm.

The first blast occurred in Kashmir Block near Moon Market which had only three months earlier been reduced to ashes.
