Eh, Got Free Ticket, Ah?

i always get fascinated with movie postera. or any poster will do. i like the way a poster is being designed. i am not a designer by training but i like designs. all sort of designs. for me the people behind these sort of designs must be from mars. they have the ability to project what other people like. they have the right brain and the right eyes to colour our life.

more often than not, i will try to emulate their design concept. hehehhheheeh 🙂

like this one.

this show by harith and jit. i like the poster. the background colour is quite clear depicting only 3 basic colour. the black n white match the background and blend them in harmony.

now i start to sound like your design teacher, am i?

Synopsis : If Harith Iskander and Jit Murad had 10sen for every time they were asked for free tickets to one of their shows, they’d be rich, rich men. What with the country turning 50 and launching its first teh tarek-ing man into space, Harith and Jit have decided to round off the eventful year with a show based on this very FAQ – “Eh, got free ticket ah?”Malaysian’s love nothing better than getting something for free:

Opening a restaurant? – Eh, got free makan ah?

Launching a magazine? – Eh, got free copy ah?

Just graduated as an architect? – Eh, can build me free house ah?

So yes, Harith and Jit return, together this time, for their last hurrah for 2007, celebrating what it is to be Malaysian. They’ll be joined by guest artiste Douglas Lim.

And bring your wallet too — to answer the question above, “No, got no free ticket…”

FUNNYMEN Harith Iskander and Jit Murad are back for their last stand-up comedy show of 2007.

Titled Eh, Got Free Ticket, Ah? … By Harith And Jit, it is staged from Nov 28-Dec 2 at The Actors Studio in Bangsar Shopping Centre, Jalan Maarof, Kuala Lumpur.

Harith and Jit are celebrating the country’s 50th anniversary with a humorous look at our collective achievements this far. And they will place particular emphasis on the country’s first spaceman Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor Sheikh Mustapha.

As for the comedy showcase’s title, it is a tribute to Malaysians’ age-old “tradition” of wanting to enter the theatre or cinema with free tickets.

The duo often joke that if each of them had an extra 10 sen, they would indeed have enough money to run a free show for 15 nights at The Actors Studio and still walk away with a tidy profit.
Jit recently appeared as Malaysia’s first Education Minister, the late Tan Sri Khir Johari, in Shuhaimi Baba’s moving tribute to the struggle for Independence, 1957 Hati Malaya, alongside Maya Karin, Rusdi Ramli, Adlin Aman Ramlie and Sharifah Amani.

Harith, best known for his Thursday Night Live talkshows on ntv7, has also been in the cinema in recent years, acting as Sharifah Amani’s father in Yasmin Ahmad’s films Sepet and Gubra.

He first gained fame acting in TV3’s hit comedy series of the 1990s Jangan Ketawa alongside Syed Muradzi Syed Shamsul (Dee), Sri Shan and the late Rambo Chin.

Harith’s and Jit’s showcase is presented by Tall Order Productions.

Time: 8.30pm and 3.30pm (additional matinee on Dec 1 and 2).

Tickets: RM37 (20 per cent discount for senior citizens). Call 03-2094-0400 or 2094-1400.
