Petrol kiosks may stop credit card payments
CONSUMERS may not be able to use credit cards to pay for petrol soon as the Petrol Dealers Association of Malaysia (PDAM) has issued a letter to its members asking them not to accept such cards for the time being, Sin Chew Daily reported.
Association deputy president Datuk Zulkifli Mokti said its 3,500 members would only take cash pending the meeting with the Government on the service charge issue.
He said banks charge 1% service charge on every litre of petrol sold.
“Petrol dealers paid 19 sen on every litre as service charge when the petrol price was RM1.90 per litre, and now we have to pay 27 sen as the petrol price has been raised to RM2.70 per litre,” he said.
The petrol dealers also would not accept the diesel subsidy card during this period, it reported.
