Manchester United won the Champions League 2008, defeating Chelsea in the final at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium on Wednesday night.

The game was decided via a penalty shootout, which United won 6-5.

The teams were 1-1 at the end of the second half, and the deadlock could not be broken in 30 minutes of extra time.

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard scored in the final minute of the first half.

It was after United went ahead with Cristiano Ronaldo’s header in the 26th minute.

This is United’s third win in the elite club competition. They had won it in 1968 and 1999. They dashed Chelsea’s hopes to win it for the first time.
